GUYS & DOLLS - May 2019

Our main show for 2019 will be GUYS & DOLLS  -  Dates:  May 1-4

Venue:  Leeds Carriageworks Theatre  -  ticket details to come.

WORKSHOP Date = 9th September 2018.

We're holding auditions for anyone who wants to take part in Guys and Dolls with Leeds G&S next May.

We're looking for all chorus, principals and dancers. The audition day is sure to be fun and will take the form of a workshop where you'll learn an ensemble song, as well as take part in group characterisation and movement sessions.

If you fancy yourself as a Nathan Detroit, Nicely Nicely Johnson, Sarah Brown, Adelaide or any other principal part, these auditions will be held in the afternoon but you'll still need to attend the morning session.

Timetable for the day:
10:00 - 12:30 - Anyone wanting to be in the show, including principals
13:00 - 18:00 - Principals auditions

Get Involved: Off-Stage

There are plenty of things to be done to turn a few enthusiastic rehearsals into fully fledged productions.  Lighting, props, sets, marketing, and much more.  We have a good-sized team who work across different areas, who are ALWAYS keen to hear from people who want to get involved.

There is much fun to be had in designing costumes, constructing sets, sourcing props, programing websites, focusing lighting rigs, and more.  Most do this purely for the enjoyment, occasionally some use it as valuable experience for a future career in the arts.

Join On-Stage

We love to hear new voices within our group each year, whether looking to blend into the safety of the chorus, or stepping confidently to the front taking a principal role.  There are two things to know:

ONE:  the best time to join is Sep-Oct (before we are full swing into rehearsals for our Main show.  Or for a concert or smaller production (timings vary).

TWO:  once you have had an opportunity to experience a few rehearsals, you will be asked to audition to join the group.  Nothing overly scary or taxing.  If you want to be considered for a principal part, again there are official (slightly more taxing) auditions.
